The first two weeks of January were quite a challenge. The whole of Upper Styria was covered in snow within a very short space of time. Vordernberg was not spared by Mrs Holle and around 60 callouts had to be dealt with. Numerous roofs were freed from the masses of snow. The risk of avalanches increased rapidly, resulting in the closure of the Präbichl. Finally, the decision was taken to evacuate the Präbichl. Some comrades voluntarily put their lives at risk to rescue people from the danger zone.
