Rudolf Neykauf wurde zum 1. Hauptmann gewählt.

Am 02.05.1882 mussten beim Brand der Arbeiterbaracken, oberhalb der Röst, der Laurentikirche und dem Beneficantenhäuschen nicht nur Gebäude, sondern vor allem Menschenleben gerettet werden.
