At 09:20, we were alerted to a forestry accident at Präbichl. As soon as we arrived, we were informed by Florian Leoben that this was a human rescue following a car accident. As several forest roads cross in the area of the accident, the coordinates were passed on in order to find the scene of the accident more quickly. With the help of the coordinates and the guidance personnel present, the scene of the accident was quickly localised. After a brief assessment of the situation, the decision was made to rescue the person, who was injured to an undetermined degree, using the basket stretcher onto the forest road 30 metres above. In excellent co-operation with the Red Cross crew and Christophorus 17, the rescue was successfully carried out. As it was impossible to transfer the victim to the helicopter rescue in this area, it was necessary to transport him by ambulance to a nearby clearing. After the injured person had been treated and transported away, there were many options for recovering the wreck from the dense forest. A construction company that happened to be present immediately agreed to support us with their walking excavator. The wreck could be recovered with combined forces.
After 3 hours, we brought this physically demanding call-out to an end.
We wish the injured person a speedy recovery and would like to thank everyone involved for their excellent co-operation.
