The year 1994 got off to a fiery start for all firefighters in the truest sense of the word, namely with an emergency on 1 and 2 January, during which a fire in a residential building directly on the B115 had to be fought and the high-voltage power line above had to be secured.
Vordernberg: Fire on New Year's Day - approx. 3 million schillings damage to residential building
The flames took their toll on the listed residential property in Vordernberg.
At 8.22 am on New Year's Day, the sirens sounded in the Vordernbergtal fire brigade section. A fire broke out for unknown reasons on the first floor of the home of former nightclub owner Alois M. at Hauptstraße 134 in Vordernberg, which subsequently spread to the suspended ceiling and the roof truss.
6 fire brigades with 64 men had to fight the fire with heavy breathing apparatus, which proved to be difficult due to the location of the property (road bottleneck and close proximity to the railway line). The main road and railway traffic were temporarily closed due to the extinguishing work.
Fortunately, no one was present in the building at the time the fire broke out, but the damage to property is several million euros.
